I am a company director and an experienced manager with over 20 years’ experience in the Western Australian resources sector. My career has specialised in the marine industry, in both offshore oil and gas, and bulk ore/mining industry. Much of my career has been in middle and senior management positions with accountability for large workforces, multi-million dollar budgets and significant stakeholder management. An experienced commercial professional, my positions have covered areas including offshore marine operations, port operations including pilotage & towage, marine technical assurance and risk, bulk shipping, freight and charter negotiation, international trade and export operations. I have led teams of commercial and operational/technical people alike and am known for my ability to successfully interface between commercial and operational disciplines. I have post-graduate qualifications in Maritime Management and International Business and am an experienced company director, having graduated from Australian Institute of Company Directors in 2011 and serving as a Director at Dampier Port Authority from 2010-2014, including being a member of the Audit & Risk Committee.I have continued to volunteer on a number of not-for-profit boards, where my skills in governance, financial management, strategic planning, risk management and building strong networks with the local government and business community are put to good use. I have a broad range of management and organisational skills, and apply these skills across not only commercial, but technical and operational disciplines, often outside of my specific area of expertise. I am recognised as a leader who is successful in building strong networks and relationships and for fairness, integrity and compassion in the way I deal with others.
