During my undergraduate studies at the University of Alberta, majoring in Arts and Design has endowed me with fundamental principles, visual literacy, narratives, product design, and digital media by attending comprehensive courses. I also became proficient in using Adobe Illustrator, InDesign, and Rhino to build models and create products. In addition, I attended courses on Coursera and LinkedIn Learning to grasp the latest design trends and tools, particularly Figma, to create user experience prototypes and user interface designs. Also, academic projects enabled me to polish what I had learned. Apart from conducting thorough investigations for effective personas, I largely improved my proficiency in building models with Rhino, completing 3D rending by V-ray, and creating designs with Adobe Illustrator. My excellent user research, model creation, and design skills gave me more confidence to engage in working in the future.I also attach much importance to real-world experiences, leading to my devotion to internships. Working as a UI&UX designer in 2021, I focused on user interface design and user experience optimization by Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop. This internship equipped me with the overall design process from requirement analysis to prototyping, and I also witnessed the importance of human-computer interaction in UI&UX design. Afterwards, I devoted myself to the design tasks assigned by Ericksen Nissan where I took charge of designing sales posters and creating car exhibition stands. Besides creating appealing posters with aesthetic values, I also emphasized user experience and user-centered design. The better I understood what clients want, the better I can tailor a digital experience for their needs and values. It was these internships that strengthened my understanding of UX prototyping tools, alongside user research methods, driving me to dive deeper into this field.
