Multifaceted role involving all aspects of accounting and taxation, including:● Preparation of business activity statements, instalment activity statements, cash flow forecasts, and integrated 3-way forecasts including profit and loss, balance sheet and cash flow.● Preparation of financial reports and tax returns for companies, trusts, partnerships, sole traders and individuals, with minimal errors/review points.● Analysis of actual results to budget and year on year results with commentary on variances and comparisons to industry benchmarks.● Establishment of new entities including setup of new companies and trusts, and registration for ABN, GST and PAYGW.● Preparation and input of year end journal adjustments to client accounting software.● Successful negotiation of payment arrangements with ATO.● Bookkeeping function including reconciliation of general ledger and accounts.

Challenged to develop, grow and manage an existing portfolio of key clients and achieved this through establishing contact with all clients to determine action required, identifying new business opportunities with a strong focus on portfolio growth through establishing and developing networks of internal and external contacts. The role also involved assessment of economic value and potential risk of new and existing business, establishment of sales and marketing campaigns/initiatives, implementation of annual business plans for the customer portfolio, development of business lending proposals, team and individual performance management, staff coaching and development.

This position was created upon the establishment of NAB’s Education & Government Business unit, with a small existing portfolio of key clients. In collaboration with a co-partner, was accountable for the development, growth and management of the unit to significant gross lending, deposit and revenue targets. This involved identification and research of potential business and extensive networking to create awareness and grow the portfolio. Consistently exceeded customer expectations by focusing on each customer’s unique requirements and conducting research to familiarise with their business.
