Empowering people to save the natural world, through work, life and play.Earthwatch Institute is an international environment NFP with offices in the USA, UK, India, Japan and Australia. We use citizen science to catalyse behaviour change for organisations and individuals. Working with our partners, we deliver experiential learning and transformational experiences for individuals and teams through Work, Life, and Play.

A manager in a small University Advancement Philanthropy team, I worked on Swinburne's strategic priorities and development efforts for the Faculty of Health, Arts and Design. Swinburne University of Technology is a dual sector university, offering the highest quality education from pre-apprenticeships to PhDs. With three campuses in Melbourne and the Sarawak campus in Malaysia, Swinburne is ranked in the top 3% of universities globally, and one of the top 100 universities in the world under 50 years of age.

I led the UQ Art Museum's Advancement agenda, working with philanthropists and supporters of the UQ Art Museum to help achieve its vision to be the best university art museum in the country. With a mandate to develop the next generation of Museum professionals, I also trained, supervised and mentored UQ student volunteers keen to gain experience in art museum fundraising and development operations.Key outcomes- Opened The Alumni Friends of UQ Collection Study Room - a learning space fully funded by our new community of donors.- Increased the number of donors tenfold in its first year- Developed the UQ Art Museum's first Advancement Strategy (2014-2016) - Developed the Museum's first Case for Support - and achieved the primary objectives (amount raised for strategic priorities)- The Director's Council: established and managed a group of advocates introducing people to the work of UQ Art Museum and helping establish relationships with those interested in supporting the arts and education- The Director's Circle: launched the UQ Art Museum's philanthropic community. The Circle provides donors with educational opportunities and special access behind the scenes to the Museum's work, recognising the donor's importance to the life and success of the UQ Art Museum and its mission

Over the four years my role changed as the team expanded from a team of two fundraisers, to a team of six, including a Director of Advancement. I managed existing donor relationships, and stewarded long established Foundation and individual donor ($1M+) relationships on behalf of the Executive Dean; liaison and compliance with a newly introduced hub-and-spoke model of fundraising along with new gift acceptance and contact reporting requirements. I provided strategic advice to Heads of Schools: developed advancement strategies; established structured giving activities for donor acquisition purposes; managed volunteer leadership boards; and developed relationships for major gift fundraising outcomes.
