Managing Editor
CurrentWorking with clients and brands to dictate content direction, liaise with writers and designers, uphold content schedules, and ensure all content adheres to brand strategy and standards. Duties include:Editorial:• Managing Contently contributor teams.• Soliciting pitches from contributors.• Creating and assigning project briefs.• Editing content according to the client’s brand guidelines.• Providing strategic editorial insights to advance clients’ content goals.• Initiating the story-creation process.• Establish and/or enforce quality and standards.• Establishing an editorial calendar that aligns with the customer’s content plan.• Updating content strategy and subsequent areas at the direction of the Customer Success team.• Editing content for grammar, spelling, tone, and voice; verifying facts, dates, and statistics.Managing teams:• Freelancer management: staffing writers, answering questions, clarifying briefs, approving drafts, etc.• Enforcing compliance to the publication’s style, content strategy, editorial policy, and publishing requirements with writers.• Managing content workflow.• Managing and enforcing deadlines, including communicating with customers and Customer Success regarding changes in agreed-upon delivery dates.Managing client relationships:• Providing editorial and talent updates during biweekly/monthly status calls with customers and Customer Success.• Communicating with customers via the platform and email as needed.
