Duty Manager of a multi-faceted dry-side leisure centre which housed a fitness suite, main gym hall, dance studios and an Astro pitch. Duties involved day to day running of the centre, line managing 5 staff, budget control, responsibility for health and safety, dealing with members of the public, marketing and co-ordintating activities with 10 other centres throughout the Borders. Aside from this, the DM role included instructing group exercise classes and taking clients for Personal Training.

Working with clients in all sectors, we utilised our communication and media skills to help organisations promote and market their goods and services with great success.Working with one of the world’s leading hotel groups, we developed and delivered a series of Crisis Communication and Media Training sessions in the UK and Dubai for Senior Executives and Hotel Managers from around the globe.I was commissioned to present my own programme proposal on ‘Parenting’ – a five part series on BBC Radio Scotland (March 2010), which was extremely well received.

Responsible for the development and implementation of a Communications, Marketing and Events strategy for SBC, Scotland’s leading organisation in Corporate Social Responsibility. I also worked alongside the CEO, SBC Board and Executive Team to develop a short and long term strategy for the continuing success and growth of SBC. This included a network of 8 offices, operating throughout Scotland and alignment with Business in the Community, which operates from London.I was charged with instigating, developing and leading SBC’s Rural Programme in Scotland. This involved building a team of senior business leaders to drive the CSR agenda in rural Scotland. Also, regular communications with Clarence House and the organisation of high level events attended by SBC President, HRH Prince Charles, alongside senior business leaders and community representatives.

The programme investigated moral, social and religious current affairs in an open and challenging way. It worked to tight weekly deadlines and as a small team, we worked under considerable pressure to ensure a weekly broadcast!Eikon proudly worked as the broadcast media partner for CHAS (Children's Hospice Association Scotland) during their first major campaign to build Rachel House.
