Chief West is the former National Director of Field Operations & Government Relations at the National Fire Sprinkler Association (NFSA). Former State Fire Marshal and Gatlinburg Fire Chief with a demonstrated history of working in government administration. His background includes working as a Fire Management Consultant for all TN Cities with the University of Tennessee. Skilled in Crisis Management, Budgeting, Government, Law Enforcement, Firefighting, EMS, and Emergency Management. Strong experience working in legislative and political matters including experience in politics, budgeting, communications, and Human Resources. Education includes a Master’s degree in Business Administration from Lincoln Memorial University and Bachelor’s degree in Organizational Management from Tusculum College.Chief West has served his entire career in public service and has dedicated his life to helping others. He has been active in emergency services for the past 46 years with extensive experience in managing business operations. His vast knowledge and passion for saving lives through fire prevention efforts and advocacy have made him a leader and visionary for reducing deaths, injuries, and property loss from fire.
