My role within this high pressure pump manufacturer is to support growth and profitability by developing business with new and existing customers. This involves consulting with customers to analyse and define their requirements, and designing technical engineering solutions to their specific requirements. I prepare and present business proposals, close sales, and project manage the order process to ensure build meets quality specification and ships on time. Additionally, I work with the marketing team to prepare marketing plans, press releases, e-marketing and case studies. Positive outcomes include creating the advertising campaign for the new WashSaver product and designing lunch & learn sessions for potential buyers. I also oversaw WashSaver’s new product life-cycle from concept, design, component selection, sales proposal layout and marketing to winning the first order within 2 months of product release.I have especially enjoyed designing a more efficient, customer centric sales management process, from first enquiry through to order processing, including project planning, bills of material standardisation and component selection.

In this role, I planned and organised workflows and the order process, and provided direction, coaching and leadership to 3 Sales staff handling customer enquiries. I dealt with new engineered product enquiries, and prepared specification, pricing and proposal submissions. This involved visiting clients on site, reviewing their product requirements and specifications, and advising on the most appropriate engineered solution. I advised and assisted clients requiring spare parts, accessories, repairs and overall system designs, and researched new. I also produced technical specs and promotional text for inclusion in marketing literature, and processed new business to ensure delivery of excellent levels of customer service.

This early part of my career involved handling customer enquiries concerning bare shaft pumps, accessories and spare parts. I developed role to encompass building special pumps, servicing returned pumps and testing pumps after refurbishment.
