The Federation of Indian Micro and Small & Medium Enterprises (FISME) is the voice of Indian Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs). FISME’s mission is to work for the survival and growth of Indian MSMEs, especially those engaged in manufacturing. It is widely recognised that Indian MSMEs, who number more than 30 million including some 13 million engaged in manufacturing, constitute the backbone of the country’s economy as they account for 50% of India’s total manufacturing output, 45% of total exports and 90% of employment in the manufacturing sector. MSMEs are also the economy’s growth engine with their output often growing at more than 12-15% per year.
