In March 2013, during my role as a Fitter 2, a secondment opportunity arose to assist the Escalator Maintenance Operations Team with the management of the department’s 118 escalators in an office-based role; this initially involved the electronic inputting and archiving of paper service records, but later evolved into utilising the same asset management.
