My most recent role before moving to Germany. I was a sole trader working on an hourly rate contract for the Accident Compensation Corporation (ACC) in New Zealand. I initially recruited for their Technology portfolio recruiting as many as 40 positions at once (all levels- including Manager/Director).After a few months when a permanent consultant was found to recruit the Technology portfolio I moved into the Human Resources portfolio. ACC had just begun a restructure in this area and so the role became very strategic. I provided advice to senior leadership on their advertising strategy and processes to ensure a successful restructure. Role responsibilities:- Management of an entire recruitment portfolio. 40 roles at any given stage of the recruitment cycle (Role brief, advertising, screening, interviewing, reference checking, security checks, onboarding).- Strategic advice on a large scale project from the recruitment perspective. Attending regular senior leadership meetings and presenting on behalf of the recruitment team. - Influencing senior leaders and conveying important ideas in a way that will help decision making at a high level.- Advertising planning. Providing advice on advertising strategy post restructure. How is the organization going to market themselves in the best way to attract the best candidates with many similar roles to fill at once?

This role is within the Talent Acquisition team providing recruiting services to all of the Ministry for Primary Industries (MPI) (roughly 3000 total staff members). This was a fast-paced and high-volume role. I initially recruited for the entire New Zealand Food Safety (NZFS) portfolio with over 40 roles at any given time from coordinator to Director level. As our team grew, I focussed on Verification Services recruiting frontline Veterinarians. This directorate needed extra attention as there was a global Veterinarian shortage.Role responsibilities:- Taking a brief from the hiring managers; setting expectations, working together on advertisements and talking through a specific plan for the role. Providing advice on recruitment policy. - Posting the advertisement and running an initial screen of candidates based on CV or a video pre-interview if needed - Creating interview questions and notifying unsuccessful candidates- Participating panel interviews- Confirming next steps with candidates- Salary advice, working with the hiring manager on offer approval- Reviewing and editing the Offer Letter and Independent Employment Agreement - Creating vacancy folders to contain all the details on the role/candidateOne project of note was a large-scale marketing campaign to fill veterinarian vacancies during a global shortage. I worked with the Food Safety senior leadership team to attract veterinarians. My role as the recruitment specialist was to provide strategic advice on this campaign given our recruitment needs. What things are important to include in the marketing process to ensure we were attracting the right candidates. This gave me great insight into how big marketing campaigns are run within government organizations.

I specialized in policy recruitment where I managed a portfolio of clientele and an effective pool of candidates. I provided general recruitment assistance from including candidates in a process to running a tailored project. I was originally recruiting hourly rate contractors and built a substantial number working through me in a short time. I then moved to open a new permanent recruitment desk to develop new opportunities for my team. Role responsibilities:- Sourcing candidates: Using job ads (LinkedIn, Seek, Trade Me Jobs, Mahi, Māori and Pacific Jobs). Direct headhunting though Seek recruiter, LinkedIn and my networks - Business development: establishing new clients for the business and maintaining relationships to foster ongoing partnerships- Consultation to clients: including Managers, Directors and CEOs of central government organizations (e.g the Ministry for Business Innovation and Employment). Not just managing a process for them but providing market insight and advice- Running key/niche roles on a project basis- Admin based tasks: managing an inbox and registry of candidates/clients; reference and compliance checks; booking in interviews; notes for job briefs or candidate screening; formatting CVs and writing candidate summaries for managers; writing job ads; timesheet management- Engagement with a number of active and passive candidates: putting an emphasis on candidate care and managing expectations. Screening suitable candidates for potential roles and providing interview coaching sessions- Contract negotiation- Informally mentoring and coaching junior staff

In this role I helped clients to plan and book their travel. This required meticulous attention to detail and active listening. I was required to keep up to date with all current travel guidelines and restrictions as well as the most relevant sales to book customers their ideal holiday. Role responsibilities:- Business development to establish a large client base - Sales and customer service- Maintaining all aspects of the business, which included finance, marketing and networking - Proficiency in multiple computer systems and a general computer competency (Sabre, OMNIS, Microsoft Office, Quickdox... etc)
