Profile bio

About Fitz Ogundipe

I have worked for Apache Nitrogen Products now for over two years after College. As a PSM regulated facility one cannot over emphasize safety especially as regards covered processes and I have been at the forefront of that. Apache produces HNO3, both Liquid and Prilled Ammonium Nitrate for the commercial explosives/mining and fertilizer industries. My responsibility encompass the overall functioning of the plant and troubleshooting process related problems and identifying areas of improvement. My experience at Apache has taken me through small and large projects as I work alongside a few other engineers. Some of the projects that I have worked required direct interaction with EH&S department to ensure emission compliance, waste disposal permits and help draft future ones. SCRs NOx control and optimization was very important in this. My support of the EH&S Department also included a heavy PSM and Safety focus on area such as PHAs and HAZOPs studies. Also of note is the MOC coordination which I have a secondary managerial responsibility.Project works that I have worked on included but not limited to establishing a plant wide Bill of Material centered on ascertaining a baseline for the various consumables and utilities. Also, the revitalization of the BFW system, by the installation of the ROs, softeners, CIP and establishing KPI to monitor the performance of the equipment. I also performed a plant wide water balance and optimization of the brine concentrator (evaporator) to ensure the plant’s integrity as a ZLD facility. All of these also required training of operators to properly operate the equipment. I was also involved with many minor projects and provided technical assistance to outside engineering firms to complete detailed design for these efforts.Additionally, my responsibilities includes assisting Ops or Maintenance personnel, participating in Root Cause analysis in troubleshooting sessions for plant problems.

Listed skills include Aspen, Matlab, Maple, Visio, and 21 others.
