Kelly Fitzgerald is a senior associate at Thurlow/Associates — a Southern California-based consulting firm specializing in strategic fund development and public relations for nonprofit organizations — providing counsel and assistance to clients in areas including, but not limited to, institutional fundraising, public grant solicitation and individual donor outreach.Ms. Fitzgerald is responsible for broadening clients’ funding bases to encompass additional local, regional and national funding prospects, while simultaneously stewarding relationships with clients’ loyal donors. She is also instrumental in identifying areas of client operations that may be improved to enhance fundability, and in helping to implement improvements, as needed. In addition, she assists clients in developing a variety of written materials, coordinating work with community partners, and more.

- Reviewed annual grant applications submitted by emergency food and/or shelter providers for funding consideration- Coordinated the annual planning and allocation process for $5.2 million in Federal EFSP funds and $1 million in State EHAP funds- Monitored fiscal and programmatic performance of grantees and ensure contract compliance with appropriate Federal and State regulations and timelines- Participated in public policy, advocacy, and community outreach activities related to hunger, homelessness, and poverty- Conducted public hearings, focus groups, and technical assistance workshops for non-profit agencies seeking funds to provide food, shelter, and supportive services - Maintained working relationships with 150+ funded agencies, community volunteers, and Local Board Members- Acted as a liaison between the National EFSP Board/State EHAP program and the Los Angeles County Local Board
