Contribute to successfully implement the WFP country strategic plan by leading a range of vulnerability assessment mapping (VAM) and monitoring & evaluation (M&E) activities, providing research and analysis, generating VAM evidence base, informing policy, strategy and programme design and implementation and developing capacity of national partners and colleagues and documenting the results.• Provide expert advice and support WFP and its partners on matters pertaining to food security and nutrition strategies, policies, programmes, and ensure the timely and productive use of analysis and other knowledge products to understand vulnerabilities, inform WFP’s decision-making and action.• Lead the development digitization of systems and tools for the assessment and monitoring of food and livelihood vulnerabilities assistance needs in line with corporate best practice.• Lead technical partnerships for the enhancement of systems and tools using remote sensing, geospatial information systems, cloud-based databases and impact-based forecast and modelling.• Lead/conduct complex food security, nutrition, markets, urban, climate and resilience analysis and prepare timely reports on food and livelihood vulnerability assessment needs in line with widerVAM policies, processes and guidance to enable effective decision-making on the development of country strategy, policies and programmes.• Lead and support in collaboration with the monitoring team the coordination of data gathering, management and visualisation from monitoring systems, VAM assessment and other sources ensuring rigorous quality standards.• Lead and support the development of effective food security and vulnerability information products at regional and country level to support early action, emergency preparedness and response, targeting and programme design as well as advocate for the people of Afghanistan that are vulnerable to food insecurity.
