I’ve had a diverse and successful career as a high-tech entrepreneur, a 4-term elected representative, served as spokesperson for the Grand ‘Ole Opry, was CEO of a publicly-traded corporation, am a highly-decorated combat veteran, an accredited angel investor and a national leader in palliative care, eHealth and cannabis regulation.This year I have been in the transition process – moved from my home on a mountain range out-west to a delightful property 76’ above a scenic bend in the Muskegon River, UpNorth Michigan.After 20+ years in a 4-level house built into the side of a mountain where I could look out every night and see the lights of 1,000,000+ people in the valley below, I’m now creating a “forever home” on 7-acres where I look out and see no lights and 0 people in valley below.It seems I’ve spent much of my life planning, scheming, hoping for things in the future and the rest replaying and reviewing things from my varied pasts. Here I focus on appreciating what’s happening today – like the salmon running. I am learning to enjoy and treasure the ordinary as well as the adventure.
