 Release Manager with end-to-end delivery responsibility for the Strong Customer Authentication (SCA) solution of the bank’s new digital retail banking channels (mobile app and web).  Responsible for functional & technical solution design, build & test. Standup and embedding a new agile Software Delivery framework (cloud / on-premis hybrid model). Service introduction and service transition of new infrastructure to technology services. Development of customer migration approach. Standup of operational risk triage and assessment process to support go-live decision-making. Day-to-day tasks included release planning and management, vendor and financial management & scope control. Over 100 resources engaged in release delivery.

 End-to-end delivery of a new direct payments channel for Ulster Bank corporate customers. Delivered a full digital channel ecosystem including technology controls and oversight, supporting business processes & outsourcing and new product governance. Managed friendly customer pilot and product launch.

 Responsible for delivery of business-critical RBS & NatWest SEPA proposition enhancements to facilitate retention of key customers following the wind-down of RBS NV (ex-ABN AMRO). Managed a team of 40 onshore and offshore resources consisting of project managers, solution architects, product owners, developers, testers & Infra SMEs to deliver customer-required SEPA product enhancements to core payments systems. Leveraging an agile delivery methodology to engage and coordinate multiple stakeholders and achieve cohesion in fast-paced environment.  Responsible for successful delivery of a SEPA-compliant business model across the RBS group UK brands (NatWest, RBS, Coutts&Co, Adam&Co, RBS International). Engaged with Senior Executives across the group brands to communicate complex information to non-technical stakeholders in a meaningful way. Managed a team of 20 onshore and offshore resources. Focus on coaching and development of change leads to successfully manage the delivery of complex business change. Deputy to SEPA Programme Director. Overall Programme budget €17M.

 Responsible for successful delivery of SEPA payments for customer-facing Digital Channels (Internet & Mobile), branch channels and internal bank departments.  Managed teams of up to 30 onshore and offshore resources to ensure delivery of SEPA compliant payment solutions. Successfully managed high-risk changes to business-critical systems. Budgets of €2M-€3M.

- The Kerryconnect program is a global rollout of SAP across the Kerry organisation. Release 4 involved deployments to sites across the Netherlands and Denmark. Scope included MDM, Finance, OTI, Purchasing, HCM and the pilot release of Manufacturing and Supply Chain.- Managed a team of 20 onshore and offshore resources (business analysts, project managers and data conversion developers) to collect, extract, cleanse and convert data from legacy systems to SAP, leveraging data migration tools such as Business Objects Data Services and SAP LSMW.- Responsible for ensuring the completeness and quality of data converted, planning, estimating, resourcing, management of risks and resolution of issues.- Managed communications with senior client stakeholders (to COO level) through status reporting and regular checkpoints with workstream leads and programme leadership.- Resolved critical data quality issues by devising and implementing a process for pre-load validation of business-provided data by business data owners and workstream leads.

- The SEPA Programme was set up to make BOI systems SEPA payment compliant. The planning phase of the programme involved evaluating the feasibility of replacing the bank’s legacy business customer channel and payments infrastructure with a leading edge third party vendor product while moving the bank to a message-based architecture for business payments. - Responsible for defining the scope and business requirements for data migration, with input from key business and programme stakeholders.- Developed two solution delivery options. Completed a detailed analysis of each in terms of delivery risk, data quality, customer experience and overall cost. Reviewed and agreed costs & benefits with stakeholders. - Results of this analysis showed that customer conversion to a new channel was high-risk given the scope and EU-mandated SEPA deadline. This was one of the key factors resulting in de-scoping the new channel from the programme.

- Managed 18 business change initiatives (supported by technology change) focused on the centralisation of branch processes to enable the deployment of a new, leaner branch operating model. Also managed the successful upgrade of the bank’s cash management system. - Responsibilities included: Implementing a standardised project management methodology, managing plans, issues, risks and dependencies, resource planning, budgeting, stakeholder management, status reporting and third party vendor management.

- The Financial Management Reform (FINREF) project was set up to define and implement the framework for a new financial management model, supported by a new SAP implementation, for the European Space Agency. - The migration scope covered all contractual data history going back to the foundation of the agency in 1972, representing 200,000 contractual commitments valued at €53Bn.- Managed a team of 7 people (onshore and offshore) with €1M budget. Responsible for functional designs, technical designs, ensuring high quality development, testing of data migration and associated tools, execution of mock migrations, resolution of issues and defects, regular status reporting to client and Accenture management, supervision and coaching of team members.- Managed challenges with stakeholders that were reluctant to move to SAP BI. Ultimately BI was de-scoped and the migration logic was used to build an interface for SAP data into the legacy reporting system.

- The Department of Agriculture is responsible for the payment of EU CAP grants to 130,000 farmers in Ireland. The SPS project involved the maintenance and development of the Department’s IT systems – the core application processing and payments system and a web application that enables farmers and their agents file for payment online.- As Release Manager, responsible for managing a team of up to 8 Java developers, business analysts and testers. Managed project budgets of up to €1M pa. Managed requirements collection, analysis, estimation, work planning, work tracking, functional design, test preparation, test execution, deployment, quality control and change control.- Managed 2 releases (March 2008, March 2009) of the Department’s Online Filing System. This involved liaison with senior business stakeholders and external groups representing agricultural agents in order to determine the application requirements. Twice delivered the application to an aggressive deadline, ahead of schedule, in order to facilitate an early opening date for the filing period.

- The Change Programme saw the ATO replace all core systems with a single taxation processing product. The data migration effort involved the migration of registration, accounting, form, and case data for over 20 million taxpayers to the new system.- Worked with key users and business stakeholders to establish conversion requirements. Responsible for exploring, resolving and communicating data migration issues and risks, estimation, planning and change control, timely delivery of high quality functional design deliverables and obtaining signoff from business. Managed a team of up to 6 functional designers.- Architected the data migration, enabling conversion of 10 years historical data for 20 million taxpayers to the new integrated taxation system.

- Responsible for PAYE database design and integration with existing systems. Responsible for all maintenance to the Customer Accounting system. Development lead for teams of up to 4 COBOL and INGRES developers. Responsible for planning, QA, knowledge transfer, status reporting, technical design, development and test deliverables, issue resolution and escalation.
