As the Deputy Director of Mission Programs and Communications for the Matriots, I am charged with strategizing, managing, leading, and monitoring major buckets of the organization’s programmatic work and the partnerships and communications related to this work. I am responsible for overseeing and advancing the strategic planning and execution of the organization's endorsement program and initiatives. As well as, in coordination with our CEO, the organization's education programming and initiatives and communications strategies and partnerships. This role requires a keen understanding of political landscapes, exceptional management and leadership skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders.

As the Program Manager for Endorsements and Candidate Support I was responsible for overseeing and managing the endorsements process in alignment with the organization’s mission to elect more women who will promote an Ohio where women can thrive and prosper and vision. This role is essential in driving the organization’s strategy of endorsing women who share our values and fight to get them elected, while upholding our community values of ‘we collaborate, we share, we lift each other up toward one collective goal.’ I manage the the endorsements team and all elements of the endorsements cycle from recruitment to application to interview to endorsements and providing candidate support. Thriving in keeping apprised of the current landscape for elections and feel a sense of accomplishment in ensuring excellent processes to result in electing more women in Ohio. In this role am able to pull past data to drive future strategy and demonstrate compelling outcomes and impact of The Matriots investment of time, community, and dollars.

I coordinate with Matriots staff to produce print and digital communicationfor the organization, a nonpartisan political action committee thatendorses, supports and encourages women to run and win elected officein Ohio. I help manage email communications, social media communications,press releases, announcements, and other communications. I also research, review, draft, outline, and provide background research for thought leadership pieces, candidate bios other communications as needed for the organization.

I was in charge of the day to day operations for the office of Ohio’s 33rd House district. My main responsibilities were meeting with organizations, managing the Representative’s schedule, managing interns, and navigating constituent issues. Advocate on behalf of constituents struggling to navigate state agencies and connect them to resources as necessary was a major part of my role. I also was tasked with doing research for various bills and legislative ideas as well as writing press releases, testimony for bills, newsletters, requests for legislative support, social media posts, and commendations.

With the endorsement of the CEO of the YMCA of Greater Cincinnati, created, developed, and implemented an equity and inclusion program to create a more diverse and inclusive environment at this regional summer camp. I recruited a cohort of students of color from Cincinnati high schools to become new counselors. I designed a curriculum and processes – rooted in principles of empathy and embracing difference – that reframed how the camp discussed race and trained staff.

As a paid intern, I supported OJPC’S Second Chance program, which helps residents with criminal records overcome legal, social and employment barriers. I read and analyzed case files and assisted with legal and policy research. I also assisted in meeting with our incarcerated clients in order to create action plans to ensure their equal justice and fair treatment.
