Head of the Global Crew Operations for the Maersk Line operated fleet of more than 300 container vessels. All ranks and all nationalities were handled from the Manila office; with 9,000 seafarers from 30+ nations.Safe and cost-efficient planning of crew, travel arrangements, promotion pipelines, pool management, catering support, Drug and Alcohol testing, and co-ordination with technical teams on extraordinary crewing needs.

Venture Partnership with two entrepreneurs from the UK and Australia – Two ventures established as stand-alone companies with more than 50 people employed today and several successful funding rounds.

United Arab Emirates

Together with the area CEO, HR Director, and Process Excellence Director, I formed part of the 4-man Leadership Team for the West and Central Asia Region of Maersk Line; driving the region to deliver above expectations each year with a revenue of nearly 2bn USD.

London, United Kingdom

Managed a team of 8 Green / Black Belt project managers in the UK and Ireland cluster, delivering a portfolio of process improvement projects.The position was cut short because of organisational restructuring and promotion to Director. In 8 months, I coached and directed in excess of thirty “6-Sigma” projects; generating 5 million GBP of bottom-line value.

Singapore

In 2004, Maersk Line and Maersk Logistics commenced the implementation of SAP. It was staged and the Southeast Asia Region was chosen for Cluster 1 Implementation. I was assigned the role of Managing that implementation.The Project involved over 100 active project resources in 7 countries and close to 2,000 end users. Implementations in Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Vietnam, Cambodia, Thailand, and the Philippines were all delivered on time and budget.

Copenhagen Area, Denmark

Just over 4 years in the Maersk Logistics Project office delivering on several projects to the Maersk Logistics organisation. Through working with external project consultants from some of the best consulting houses in Denmark, I developed expert skills within project management, root cause analysis, process mapping, and process optimisation.

Lisbon Area, Portugal

First expatriation after my International Shipping Education. Originally as Business Development for Maersk Logistics Portugal, but quickly transitioned into a position in the Supply Chain team, and after a year I took up the role of Supply Chain Manager for a 6-man team in Lisbon and Oporto.My team and I handled all imports and exports for all major SCM clients in Portugal, such as Reebok, Target Stores, and Woolworths, to name a few.
