About Thomas Fjeldbonde

I started with shipping giant, Maersk, in 1996. For 14 years I worked in Finance, Logistics, and Project Management in Europe and Asia, before taking the role as Regional Director of Business Performance for the West/Central Asia Region.In 2011, I joined two experienced entrepreneurs in the Philippines and created “Manila Recruitment”; now an established head-hunting / recruitment business, and “The Astbury”; a growing co-working provider with offices in Manila.I re-joined Maersk as Global Head of Crew operation in 2015. With a team of 60 amazing people around me, I managed the crewing operation of the Maersk Line operated fleet of 300 vessels and 9,000 seafarers from all over the world, including the take-over of Hamburg Sud in 2018.In early 2019, I shifted to the health insurance industry when taking on the role as President for Marine Benefits, Inc., a Norwegian head-quartered company and industry-leading provider of healthcare insurance for seafarers and their families with close to 150,000 insured members today.
