Senior R&D Associate (Retired)The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company Mar 2006 - Jul 2022Returned to role as Senior R&D Associate in 3/06 to spearhead Open Innovation within Goodyear's Global Materials Organization with a special emphasis on renewable/sustainable materials for tires. Developed concept for using “BioIsoprene” as a feedstock for synthetic rubber, established relationship with Genencor to pursue development of BioIsoprene, evaluated emerging technology for BioIsoprene recovery via NineSigma, and served as Goodyear’s Technical Leader for BioIsoprene. Acquired certification in risk management in late 2007 and developed methods and analytics for optimizing a $50 MM portfolio of R&D programs for 2009 and 2010. Led development of process details, work flow, and pilot program for implementation of Phase-Gate methodology for Goodyear's Fundamental Technology Programs. Returned to the lab in 2012 to evaluate options for developing a synthetic polymer equivalent to natural rubber. Currently working to become the world's expert in the chemistry of sulfur vulcanization. -
