I am a pedagogue, pianist, researcher, and writer in the classical music field.My teaching has included all age groups, SES demographics, and levels of ableness. I have experience with one-to-one, group, virtual, and classroom teaching in institutional and independent settings.Artistically, I am inspired by giving a voice to compositions often overlooked for traditional concert programming. I work to embrace all genres and styles, frequently collaborating with jazz and pop artists as well as classical musicians. My most recent collaboration has been with living composer Michael Kropf, performing and recording his chamber music.My research interest in historic pedagogues, musician mindfulness, and applications of Bourdieusian field theory have resulted in publications and presentations across the US.Also an experienced writer, I am a contributor for American Music Teacher magazine, I CARE IF YOU LISTEN, and The Westfield Center for Historical Keyboard Studies.My non-musical research interests have included heterobimetallic catalysis of pharmaceutical precursors and utilization of MRI techniques for early arthritis detection.
