Frans joined ESA Architecture in September of 2015 as part of the London Design Team. Having studied Fine art at UCA and Architecture at Oxford Brookes University. During his time with ESA he has graduated from the University of Westminster's RIBA part II Masters program and completed RIBA part III at the London Metropolitan University (The Cass) in 2024.Frans has been working for 9+ years at ESA Architecture in central London, as an Architectural Designer / Assistant, and now Architect. Frans has considerable experience in delivering RIBA Phases 1-4 front-end design and delivery, He has a successful background engaged with a varied range of sectors and expertise, from the design of small interventions to large-scale infrastructure and mixed-use schemes. Frans gained extensive experience in master planning, designing, and delivering the successful pre-planning application for the London Barnet Hospital masterplan. Under the Heritage team, Frans gained experience dealing with Listed buildings most notably the redevelopment of 1-7 Harley Street and the Facade design of 431-433 Oxford St. He has worked in varied multidisciplinary teams and provided key support to major schemes across central London and the rest of the UK.Frans has project experience at all RIBA work stages from concept design, feasibility studies, planning, tender, detail design, and construction. He has a keen interest in economics, geopolitics, ecology, and its increasing effects on the future of the Built Environment. Most of his Academic Architectural concerns relate to engineering technical long-term infrastructure solutions to adapt to future climates. Frans' visual influences range from Lebbeus Woods, Smout Allen, to Louis Kahn and Carlo Scarpa.
