Sales Manager
CurrentDuring my tenure as a Sales Manager, I have had the privilege of working closely with the CEO and founder of this startup. This collaboration has provided me with comprehensive insights into the operations of running a business from the ground up. My responsibilities have included determining optimal product pricing based on market demands, generating leads from various sources, approaching potential customers with strategic methods, converting inquiries into sales, and negotiating with different parties. Working as a Sales Manager in a startup environment has been particularly challenging due to the dynamic and often unpredictable nature of the role. For instance, I have frequently been required to work beyond standard office hours, step in to manage projects when the implementation team faced difficulties, and make on-the-spot pricing decisions. Many of these tasks fall outside the traditional scope of a Sales Manager, but I have taken them on to ensure the smooth operation of projects from inception to completion, while maintaining customer satisfaction. These challenges have pushed me out of my comfort zone, compelling me to solve problems quickly and effectively. For example, when faced with urgent projects and a shortage of available contractors, I utilized my networking skills to identify and secure the necessary resources. While the role has been demanding, requiring quick thinking and adaptability, it has also fostered my growth as a leader. The intense, fast-paced environment has sharpened my analytical and critical thinking abilities, which have been instrumental in my professional development. Despite the numerous challenges, I have successfully contributed to the company’s revenue growth, increasing monthly sales from RM 0 to RM 100K. Although this figure may not be enormous, I am proud of my contributions and the positive impact I have made on the company. Working in a start-up shapes me into a leader, and I am ready to embark on any journey ahead.
