I write and teach about a diverse range of historical topics ranging from fraternal groups, secret societies to religious and cultural history. I've published journal, magazine and/or newspaper articles on all of these topics. In conjunction with teaching history at the college level, I've also developed and written history and general humanities textbooks and ancillary materials for several major publishers. I've also developed history and social studies curricula for private companies as well as public colleges. My interest in the cultural and social history has led to publishing local histories in South Carolina and Hawai'i along with articles in newspapers, magazines, and academic journals. A current local history website I maintain: Historic Cemeteries and Churchyards: https://www.facebook.com/HistoricCemeteriesChurchyardsAs an educator, I've taught all levels of the history college curriculum ranging from survey courses in World and American history to upper division coursework and graduate seminars focusing on America's cultural and religious history.
