Development and Education in the Vernacular for Infants and children (DEVI) Project- Conducted extensive field research in rural villages across Ghana, Togo, and Senegal as part of the DEVI project, focusing on local education and development practices. Lived in 9 villages (3 in each country), spending a month in each to deeply immerse in local cultures and educational practices. Demonstrated cultural sensitivity and adaptability by effectively navigating diverse social, economic, and political landscapes in West Africa. Enhanced my understanding of the intersection between local practices and global education policies, contributing to more culturally informed and sustainable development interventions.- Employed participatory research methods to observe and document how children learn math and science through play and daily activities. Recorded observations, photographs, and videos to capture the intricacies of children’s cognitive development within their cultural contexts. Analyzed the impact of social inequalities, including gender and generational differences, on children's learning processes and outcomes.- Conducted in-depth interviews with over 90 key stakeholders (10 in each village) to gather diverse insights on education and child development. Organized and led public consultations involving institutional and community stakeholders.- Collaborated in the production of a documentary film showcasing the findings, which was subsequently screened in the villages to share insights and foster community engagement.
