As of February 2018, after 40+ years working in Silicon Valley, the last 19 of which was spent in IT Business Systems Analyst roles, I am officially retired from my career in High Tech.I am now focusing my efforts on music, working as a part-time musician in several groups. Performing for a live crowd has always been my greatest passion, and remained something that I did whenever possible during my high tech career. Now that I'm retired, I can focus much more time and energy on honing my skills, and seeking out opportunities to perform.(2020 Update: The emergence of COVID-19 of course means that live performances are on hold for now, but once the pandemic has passed I look forward to playing in front of live crowds once again.)I'm also spending a fair amount of time enjoying my other favorite hobby, Amateur Radio (call sign N6OI). "Ham radio" (as it's also called) is a great hobby because it gives me the opportunity to chat with people all over the world on an almost daily basis.(Post-pandemic I hope to get back to my other hobbies as well, especially travel.)To the many people I worked with over the years, I miss seeing you, but it's great to be able to follow your careers here on LinkedIn. Best of luck to you all.

Professional MusicianSelf Employed (Musician) Feb 2018 - PresentSan Francisco Bay AreaAfter a 40+ year career, I have decided to retire from the High Tech industry and finally put my Bachelor's degree in Music to good use by pursuing my love of music, albeit on a part-time basis. (I am retired, after all... there's no point in taking on ANYTHING full time!) I'm hoping to find opportunities that cover all aspects of my musical interests, including playing clarinet, saxophone and guitar, and even some vocal work. Other than music, I'll be pursuing my many hobbies, which include Amateur Radio, golf, and traveling to new and interesting places as often as possible.
