Fernando joined Fleury Group in August 2000, and currently is the vice-chair of the board of directors of the company, where he also coordinated the Strategy Committee from 2017 to 2023, and is a member of the Investment Committee of Kortex Ventures CVC. Since November, 2021, he is an independent board member at Agência Bori. He is also a professor at FGV-EAESP MPGC (professional master, stricto sensu), as well as a professor in the Executive MBA program at the Instituto Israelita de Ensino e Pesquisa Albert Einstein (IIEP). Since 2017, at the IBGC (Brazilian Institute of Corporate Governance), Fernando currently coordinates the Healthcare Commission, and is a member of the Board of the Future Commission. Currently, Fernando also supports startups and healthtechs as investor, board member and mentor.In his previous experience at Fleury, he led the company’s B2B area as the executive director from 2010 to 2016/early 2017. Customers were offered a distinctive approach enabled by a standardized technological environment, streamlining the diagnostic and physician decision-making processes. His business achievements included operations management, team leadership, medical services, and business processes. Fernando has a MD degree from Ribeirão Preto School of Medicine of the University of São Paulo (USP) with medical residency in Hematology and Bone Marrow Transplantation in the same Institution. He earned a PhD in Internal Medicine from the School of Medicine of the State University of Campinas - UNICAMP. Previously at Fleury Group, he worked as the leading physician for the Molecular Diagnostics until 2008, when he changed to the IT department, where he worked as the IT Governance senior manager and, later, IT projects senior manager, transforming the methodology and incorporating agile methods (Scrum).In 2011, Fernando concluded his executive MBA offered by a consortium of five business schools around the globe (FGV/Brasil; EGADE/Mexico; UNC/USA; Erasmus-RSM/The Netherlands; CUHK/Hong Kong: OneMBA.org). Finally, Fernando was also a board member and the president of Papaiz Associados (a JV with ODPV3 and FLRY3) and chairman of the OneMBA Alumni Association.
