In 1995 I was relocated to Denver from New Jersey by Merrill Lynch to manage a client services department. Ten years earlier, I had moved from New York, New Jersey with the company. My move to Denver came with a stake in the ground that I would be moving back to the East Coast in three years. Well, so much for that plan. Becoming an entrepreneur was always a dream and witnessing the coming growth in Colorado made it obvious that this was the place to be to launch my new career. That was the right decision.My love of the Colorado outdoors was another factor that caused me to stay. Skiing, hiking, including a few 14’ers with a hiking group became a favorite past time as well golf. I gave up my tennis racquet and purchased golf clubs when my golf instructor told me that golf was “not a racket sport.” I had to make a choice and am still working on my game.My two adopted girls were raised here in Colorado through high school until they decided to move to the East Coast.I was a Red Cross volunteer for several years during some of the major hurricane disasters, served at the VA hospital in Denver, and the Wounded Warrior games at the Olympic Center in Colorado Springs. Have served on several non-profit boards of directors, and as a mentor to pre-teens and young adults. Coaching small businesses through the start-up process became one of my passions. I have also been active in my church and have had leadership roles in small groups.Commercial Lending is an extension of my twenty-two years in the financial services industry with Merrill Lynch where my career spanned Systems and Technology, Finance, and Operations. I am grateful for all of those skills as they are serving me extremely well now.My best down-time experiences are doing anything outdoors, travel, the theatre, museums, family, and friends, reading and audio books. Having a healthy lifestyle including food, fitness and a spiritual practice keeps me grounded.
