Flava Coffee House was build in a very diverse community in North Seattle. It provided a unique and eclectic space that represented the diversity of this community. Not only did we serve great coffee and pastries but we provide a home like environment for the passerby to come in and relax with some good music, book or conversation. Flava Coffee House also brought the a sense of appreciation of the arts through selling of local and national artists work to hosting weekly open mics and events. People traveled from great distance to either participate in as a perform on stage or member of the audience. During these times...diversity was embraced in sharing and being.Flava Coffee House and I, Lady Flava took community, coffee and arts to a different level. Creating a haven for the seeds of creativity to be birthed.As the owner operator of Flava Coffee House, it was a financial struggle to continue to keep her doors open. While maintaining inventory, building revenue and paying taxes. After 5 years in business, I chose to make the business decision to close this location and to put the coffee house on hold, with the possibilities to reopen when the economy turns around.
