I am a Partner at Helios Advisory, a consultancy firm that provides legal and strategic advice to clients in the energy and natural resources sector, with a focus on emerging markets and Africa. I have over 15 years of experience as a legal counsel, author, and academic, specializing in foreign direct investment, compliance, anti-bribery, arbitration, shipping and energy law.My mission is to help businesses navigate the complex and dynamic legal and regulatory environment in the energy sector, and to support the transition to a more sustainable and inclusive energy future. I am also passionate about sharing my knowledge and insights through writing and teaching, having published four books and several articles on energy-related topics, and taught at various universities in three countries. I am a PhD in Law from Nottingham Trent University, a Certified ISO 37001 Lead Implementer and Internal Auditor, and a qualified lawyer . I am fluent in Portuguese, English, and Spanish, and have knowledge of French.
