His areas of specialization include banking, credit management, commercial real estate, corporate finance, capital restructuring, distressed debt, mergers and acquisitions, portfolio/fund design and management, private equity and debt, Real Estate Investment Trusts (REITs), and venture capital.After retiring as Managing Director of a Middle-Market Investment Bank and serving as the Founder and President of an opportunistic funds company, he joined the Argyros College at Chapman University as the Director at the Hoag Center for Real Estate and Finance and the Janes Financial Center, where he contributes to shaping the future of finance and real estate education. His impressive career also includes managing an event-driven equity fund at Smith Barney.Fadel collaborates with President Emeritus Doti and Professor Sfeir to present Chapman University’s Economic Forecast, a tradition dating back to 1979. In 2023, Lawandy establish the Chapman University California 100 (CUCA100) and the Chapman University Orange County 25 (CUOC25) equity Indices. In addition to his banking endeavors and board service, Mr. Lawandy serves as the CFO for his family-owned Neurosurgical Group in SoCal. Lawandy, is a Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst (CAIA).
