I enjoy a varied role at McCarthy & Stone, managing the intranet, internal communications and events for the business.My primary function is to develop and implement the intranet and internal comms strategies, to ensure they support our wider business strategy. This includes writing and publishing business news, creating and supporting with the delivery of internal comms campaigns, graphic design work, and coordinating internal events.One of my key projects so far has been to design and deliver a new intranet platform to the entire business, creating a modern, intuitive and easy-to-use platform that has enabled us to drastically improve our internal communications across all areas of the company.I support a network of intranet champions across all regions, and deliver training to new users and administrators, as well as advising on best-practice. I work with stakeholders across the breadth of the company to support their internal comms requirements, recommending the best channels to use and supporting them in developing effective communications campaigns and initiatives.I have developed the company newsletter into a 16-page quarterly magazine, written, designed and created in-house with content from all areas of the business, as well as producing a digital interactive version of each edition.More recently I have coordinated internal events for both senior management and regional teams, creating content and presentations as well as liaising with those in the business to deliver an engaging and informative event.

I am part of a growing marketing team at Teachers Assurance, and I have responsibility for developing and implementing the SEO strategy for the corporate website. - Optimising the corporate website to improve search engine performance- Working to create a content strategy to improve our online presence- Using analytics to report on site performance- Working with the Brand team to improve the UX of the site- Involved with planning the social media strategy- Manage the process of adding new content to the corporate website, advising on best practice and streamlining the workflows.

At LV= I worked in an innovative Internal Communications team as the Internal Comms channel manager. This primarily involved managing the company intranet and our other internal communications channels.I worked with the Business Partners to design and deliver departmental intranet sites, campaign micro sites, pages and tools for our customers, using skills in web design, development and programming (including standards compliant HTML, XML & CSS) as well as planning and implementing online campaigns.I also worked in a consultative capacity, providing training and support to our network of internal communications champions in both technical aspects of the intranet and overall comms best practice, so that they could manage their own intranet areas to create an engaging and useful online space for their teams.. I worked with the wider team to research and develop new and innovative tools and technologies to meet the growing internal comms digital requirements at LV=.During my time at LV= I worked with the CIO and other key IT management stakeholders to deliver a new intranet site for the IT team, improving not only their services to the company but also their employee engagement within the department.I was also part of a dedicated team creating and delivering a new, collaborative intranet platform for the business built using Drupal. This involved both technical and creative work, as well as extensive stakeholder management and project planning to ensure we could migrate all areas of the business in a timely and efficient manner, in line with LV= culture and its core values.
