As Team Manager, for Program Management, I had responsibility for four development teams in R&D group with approx. 50 employees, including 15 at an offshore development center in Kiev. In addition to support and guiding development teams/Program managers(Scrum Masters), I had the responsibility to implementing Agile (Scrum) project management (ScanJour previously used a more waterfall-like project management style), rethink Product Planning Process, Participate in the management team, key person in recruitment (Copenhagen and Kiev), redefined the way we work with our colleagues in Kiev(distributed scrum), replaced the Project Manager role with Program Manager role, implemented new release model including new milestones like Scope Complete, Feature Complete, Zero Bug Bounce and Release To Manufacturing. New tools and processes like Test Driven Development, Team Foundation Server, Pair Programming, Source tree modes (Ask vs. Tell mode) was also adopted in the teams.Ensure that all production teams had the proper balance between features, user experience, schedule and technical challenges, always with the customer in focus.

At Microsoft, I worked on the release Dynamics Mobile product through four versions(started as Developer in May 2006), starting with version 1.0. As a result of these releases, I gained a unique insight and understanding of the phases a product can and should go through before its release. In connection with the releases, I had a great deal of interdisciplinary cooperation with our leadership team, developers, testers, release team, documentation, and security team. I have learned through my experience that there are many factors that must come into play in order to be successful and ensure a high quality product. This has made me quite conscious of the phases, along with any potential pitfalls, around a product release. As a program manager, I set a huge price on SCRUM and agile project management. I have held many internal seminars explaining the advantages of using SCRUM as opposed to waterfall project management. In Bella Centeret 2007, I also held a lecture around Scrum, entitled “A Pig’s View on Agile Development with Scrum”, for Microsoft employees in Europe and the Middle East.As Program Manager and Scrum Master, I had responsibility for various feature areas and teams. My teams consisted of up to 9 people from countries around the world, including USA, Argentina, Germany, Russia, China, Italy, and Australia. This diversity has taught me what it takes to lead and guide individuals of different backgrounds in order to get the team to deliver.I also had responsibility over diverse external consultants and resources.
