The story of my interest in the earth’s system, its features and the coastal zone started with the passion for sailing growing since childhood. I studied Earth sciences during my Bachelor and became gradually more interested in more multidisciplinary approaches, like the coastal and marine systems in relation to environmental issues. To explore this even further, I chose a set of coastal management & land use management courses during my minor at the University of Western Australia in Perth. During my Masters I studied more complex physical, biological and chemical interactions of the marine and coastal systems. Also I studied the present management of the blue planet by a different perspective through the treaties of the International Law of the Sea. During both of my research projects I studied applications of the Building with Nature concept in different settings, locally in the Netherlands and outside Dutch borders, in Indonesia. Geo bio morphological processes and growing knowledge on innovative future coastal management strategies are of my greatest interest. I am an enthusiastic starter who likes to contribute her share to a group of motivated people achieving goals. Daily, I love to spend time outdoors practicing various activities. Challenges stimulate me and I always enjoy being introduced to new people and surroundings. Through travelling and studying abroad I gained experience working in international environments. With marine and coastal system being both my field of expertise as interest I like to contribute to innovative management perspectives. Perspectives in which natural processes and habitats are center of approach.
