Frank is, since Aug. 2006, CEO of AKM AS, a company he founded with three of his colleagues of the Troux R&D group. The goal is realizing the AKM technology providing a holistic design approach to enterprises. This implies using the web and software as a "smart" knowledge sharing medium augmenting the left hemisphere of our brain exploit visual workspaces.Frank, born March 19th 1943 in Norway, is married to Berit. Frank received his B.Sc. in Ind. Electronics at The Univ. of Strathclyde, UK,1968, a M.Sc. in Computer Graphics from The Univ.of Utah,1973.He was Director of R&D with Computas AS from 2000, later Troux Technologies AS, Norway.He was head of CAD/CAM at SINTEF, Oslo, 1974 -'80. He is co-founder of ICAN and METIS. METIS performed EM projects for Volvo Cars, DEC, Boeing CA, Ericson, FORD Motor, MCI and AT&T, and was acquired by AT&T (1995). In 2000 Computas AS bought the Metis products and IPR. In 1990 to 93 Frank discovered the foundations of Active Knowledge Models (AKM). In 1991 Metis Software won the Innovation of the Year Award in Norway. His main interest is exploiting the potential of AKM technology for Collaborative Engineering and Innovative Design.Specialties: Collaborative Design, Concurent Engineering, Active Knowledge Modeling, Enterprise Modeling, PLM Systems and Shortcomings of IT systems.
