A 2014 to 2017 W.K. Kellogg Foundation Community Leadership Network Fellow. The fellowship targeted individuals who can be transformative social change agents in their communities so that vulnerable children and their families can achieve optimal health and well-being, academic achievement, and financial security. Flint’s fellowship focuses on the Kellogg Foundation’s two embedded approaches of racial equity and healing, and community and civic engagement. The 3-year fellowship was completed in March of 2017.

Provided research, writing, and technical assistance (TA): Projects included a large-scale literature review, and development of a white paper and logic model that illustrates the potential of sports and entertainment to increase the dissemination, reach and influence of CDC’s evidence-based health information. Within DPSA, provided research and writing support to the Healthcare Sector regarding social determinants of health, and developed logic models for the Healthcare Sector, the Public Health Partners and Coordination Branch, and Emergency Preparedness and Response of the Office of the Director (OD). Beyond DPSA, developed a logic model that illustrates the promotion of mental health in schools for Division of Adolescent and School Health (DASH) OD, provided methodological project consultation to the Global Communication & Marketing Team of NCHM OD, and served as a member of the Workforce and Community Wellness Committee of NCHM’s Quality of Work Life Group.

Instructed students on theory and practice regarding behavior modification strategies that improve sports performance, and/or physical activity adoption, participation and maintenance; delivered course work using PowerPoint lecture and class demonstration; wrote and proctored exams and quizzes; advised and mentored students. Course taught: Sport & Exercise Psychology (ESS 310); Exercise Psychology (ESS 212).

August 2002 to May 2003 – Teaching Graduate Assistant; University of New Orleans, Department of Human Performance and Health Promotion. Responsibilities: developed course materials and instructed students for five activity courses within the department.February 2001 to January 2002 – Evaluation Graduate Assistant; formative and outcome / impact evaluation of anti-tobacco campaign, named “Youth Against Tobacco” for Louisiana State Games Foundation, and the University of New Orleans, Department of Human Performance and Health Promotion – BCM Foundation grant. Responsibilities: designed and led multiple focus groups and analyzed data to guide program design; assisted team and outside consultants with program message selection and social marketing campaign; assisted program implementation; assisted with survey design; collected and analyzed all data; wrote concluding report on findings; published results.January 2000 to January 2001 – Fiscal Graduate Assistant; Office of the Chancellor and Office of Alumni Affairs, University of New Orleans. Responsibilities: drafted office correspondences and communications, gathered support documentation for presentations, and assisted with coordination of projects.
