A BPO is issued by a hired sales agent — like myself — to determine the potential selling price or estimated value of a real estate property. BPOs are often used when banks are involved in the sale of property in their portfolios, such as through short sales or foreclosures. BPOs are more detailed and data rich than the more common comparative market analyses used in the purchase and sale of real estate between traditional buyers and sellers.

My restaurant dreams became reality with the opening of this sports-theme pub — named for baseball's legendary Babe Ruth — in uptown Charlotte. Developed all aspects of the business, from finding and negotiating the commercial real estate space to developing the concept and menu, filing licenses, establishing vendor relationships, hiring and training staff and more. Managed day-to-day operations, payroll, scheduling, financial management and budgeting, accounts payable and receivable, event planning and more.

Spent the first few years after college actively pursuing my dream of becoming an entrepreneur. Worked with various business partners and attempted to open a new business, including as a restaurant. Wrote business plans and met with commercial brokers to find appropriate real estate. Because I knew I wanted to open a restaurant, I also spent this time getting to know the business first hand. I worked as a bartender at two popular uptown Charlotte establishments — Blue Restaurant and Bar, where I perfected my martini-making skills, and Bentley's on 27, where I learned how to contribute to the fine dining experience.
