Solutions Engineer

Sofia City, Bulgaria

Project: Solutions Architecture for Third-Party Applications – Web Services1 - Project Definition and Research: To address the need for stability, modernization, and effective hosting of third-party web applications, I proposed and initiated the development of a remote solution using a virtual machine hosted within the on-premises main server. This solution aims to provide a reliable and scalable infrastructure capable of supporting web services and complementing the requirements of third-party applications.2 - Implementation and Current Status: The virtual machine was implemented as a fully featured web server hosting essential services required for application functionality. These include monitoring tools such as Grafana, Loki, and Promtail for real-time log access and alerting; an SFTP server for secure file transfers; and database administration interfaces like Adminer and phpMyAdmin. The solution is built on a microservices architecture using Kubernetes, Docker, and Traefik, with Redis integrated for lightweight messaging. Additional features include automated cron jobs for backups and critical scripts. The first web application has been successfully deployed to production, with two additional applications currently in the testing phase.3 - Future Plans: The next steps for this project focus on implementing fully automated deployment pipelines to streamline the process further and enhancing event-driven scripts to improve communication between the web server and the host server. These improvements aim to ensure greater efficiency, scalability, and maintainability for hosting third-party applications in the future.
