I moved to Milwaukee in 2011 in the wake of historical flooding due to the July 2010 record setting rainfall events. As a senior project manager for the Milwaukee Metropolitan Sewerage District, I was assigned responsibility for developing, implementing, and administering two flagship initiatives to mitigate the impacts of changing climate trends and ageing infrastructure. The District's private property inflow and infiltration (PPI/I) program demands intense communication and collaboration skills across all public sectors from elected officials to individual residents along with technical credibility to achieve the program objectives of reducing sanitary overflows and reducing basement backups. The 30th St. Corridor Wet Weather Relief project is focused on identifying isolated urban stormwater flooding and creating innovative solutions that rely on green infrastructure as well as grey infrastructure to restore as close to a natural water cycle as possible in an urban environment. I rely heavily on the work ethic instilled by my farm upbringing supplemented with a diverse background of business, private sector, and international experience to build trusting relationships for successful project outcomes.
