From 2018-2019 I took a strategic career break to go on a sailing adventure with my family. We sailed through the Mediterranean, across the Atlantic Ocean, explored the Caribbean and eventually the East Coast of the USA. Between sailing, homeschooling, problem-solving, budgeting, planning and constant risk management, this adventure tested us in the widest possible way. We had the incredible opportunity and privilege to overwhelm our senses with language, history, people, food and landscape; and then to experience the complete absence of these on ocean passages under the widest skies and over vast expanses of water.

Established and led PMO to deliver the transformational Connecting Communities project, including technology procurement, distribution, recruitment and training to support the long-term strategic objectives of ABC Regional.Working in close collaboration with the Regional Executive and key stakeholders, we successfully negotiated a challenging budgetary and political environment to provide focus and momentum across the teams. Generated regular reporting, including analysis and insights to the Steering Committee, ABC Executive and Board as required in order to support continuous strategic alignment across the ABC.

Working closely with the newly appointed Regional Director to develop the vision, mission and strategic direction for this new division of the ABC. Leading a PMO of experts across content, technology, finance, organisational development and communications, and in consultation with staff and unions, we developed the desired structure and operating model to deliver the vision for regional content. An extensive business case was approved for implementation and well supported by the ABC's executive leadership team. The planning and development was completed in the 6 month timeframe and implementation plans were created for the newly appointed Regional Executive team to execute from July 2015 onwards.

Development of the State Editions (news and information localisation) project for ABC News, managing workstreams, business case development and overarching project management through to implementation. Working closely with Capital Works, Technology, News editors, HR to deliver the project. This included managing recruitment across eight states and territories, contributing to communication, compliance, consultation and change management aspects of the project.In 2014 I worked with ABC News on the Future News strategy development. Specifically responsible for the area of Current Affairs, this project included financial modelling, organisational design and change management.
