Business development with a direct buy-and-bill product, Prokera, was strategic, relationship value based and consultative in it's approach in order to growth the account portfolio. The product, Prokera, with it's vast indications for the treatment of ocular surface disease and patented technology facilitated access to anterior segment doctors and hospitals - my main target market within Los Angeles market.

Bausch and Lomb's Pharmaceutical Division is one of the most respected healthcare brands in the eye care industry. The company's products treat a wide range of eye conditions including glaucoma, eye allergies, conjunctivitis, dry eye, and retinal diseases. Working within various therapeutic drug classes, I grew sales for Bausch and Lomb and developed one of the largest markets in the country, Los Angeles, earning in the process various awards and learning about multiple eye diseases. My experience and knowledge allowed me to mentor and share with others the key to successfully growing a portfolio of products and generating revenue while simultaneously having a patient-centered approach.

ISTA Pharmaceuticals launched 2 products which would eventually compete with some of the industry's leading and most powerful pharmaceutical companies in the therapeutic areas of glaucoma and cataract. I liken ISTA to the story of David and Goliath. We had great products, a tiny sales force, less than desirable formulary access and very little marketing dollars to spend. And I loved it! I embraced being challenged, like David was, and in the 5 years I spend helping grow the company, I began to cement my entrepreneurial values and skills. I learned about resilience, persistence, problem-solving, resourcefulness, value-add relationships, team building, networking, and most importantly, loving going to work everyday.

A first experience in the corporate world, in an industry threading the balance between patient care and ROI. I worked in co-promotion with Pfizer selling various medications targeting psychiatry, OB/GYN and women's health. I learned the importance of being grounded to the value of patient care and people care, in order to increase ROI.

Launched a retail startup upon graduation, applied firsthand classroom theories to a real venture, and learned from doing the importance of vision and leadership • Generated $250,000 in annual revenue in the first year in business • Established two store locations 65 miles apart while managing five employees• Negotiated favorable terms with suppliers resulting in a significant improvement to cash flow• Implemented systems in marketing, sales, operations, customer service and accountingSold the business to pursue a career in Health Care.
