I didn't initially set out to start an e-learning company - far from it. Education wasn't a privilege I had while growing up. All that changed in 1986 when my family immigrated to the U.S. I learned quickly that education is the foundation of building a better quality of life for oneself, and those around us. I built a career in healthcare, supporting patient care and observing doctors operate on thousands of patients. I spent several years of my career working at Bausch + Lomb Surgical alongside clinical staff, and doctors alike, helping practices build their revenue streams through premium service offerings. During this time, I realized the critical need of leveling up the quality, quantity and access of training and education of patient-facing healthcare teams. Unfortunately, the established education options have been stagnant for years. Frustrated with seeing a lack of change and inspired by tech innovation and young entrepreneurs that are revolutionizing mature industries - I set out to be the change in education in the healthcare space, starting with eye care! I recruited some of Ophthalmology and Optometry's greatest subject matter experts: Dr. Mitch Shultz, Dr. Paul Singh, Dr. Nicole Fram, Dr. Eduardo Besser, Dr. Felicia Lew; and in 2021 Alchemy Vision was born. We set out to teach, lead and inspire the transformation of eye care teams across the country, through a technology enabled, comprehensive video-based education platform. Our mission is to support patient care and practice growth by elevating the foundation upon which all is built - the healthcare team.
