Lead Facilitator, Young Advisers Of The Listening FundThe Blagrave Trust Jul 2021 - PresentLondon, England, United KingdomThe Listening Fund (see website below) has recruited 10 young people to design a funding strategy and help them spend £600,000 over the next three years. They pay these young advisers to listen to young people, as well as make organisations and systems more accountable to them.I am a independent co-facilitator working with HUDL Youth Development Agency for this piece of work. The panel wants to inspire and empower young people to create change, in the world, that matters to them. As facilitators, the aim is to create spaces for discussions so that the young people can develop their collective strategy that ultimately informs the design of a funding framework for their allocated 600k. We are also ensuring that the young people succeed in this role and that it is a fun, interesting learning experience which also supports their own development. -
Lead Facilitator For The Involving Young People CollectiveEsmée Fairbairn Foundation Apr 2020 - Jul 2024London, England, United KingdomAs part of EF’s desire to do better at listening to and involving young people more directly with their work, they are working with the Involving Young People Collective to help them design and test ways in which they can do this. So far the young people have developed standards, organised roundtables with other funders working with young people, ran innovation hackathons (rooted in human centred-design) and sprints on topics like “EF’s investment strategy “ and “Diversity, equity and inclusion in the environmental sector”. They’ve also worked on assessing grants and inputting into other pieces of work that EF is undertaking. For this piece, I brought my expertise in co-design and innovation to bring fresh perspectives to the young people and the organisation as a whole. You can see a report from the Diversity in the environmental sector Hackathon that I led on below.Empowering young people and shifting the power to them is at the core of this whole initiative. -

The Moving Beyond COP conference, for which I was one of the circle holders, is an experiment designed to speed up our personal and collective transition (and the transition of all our organisations and systems) towards creating a future that supports life for all people and the planet. Lead Facilitator, Peer Networks ProgrammeImpact Hub Kings Cross Oct 2020 - Mar 2021London, England, United KingdomCovid-19 has had a huge impact on cafes, restaurants, and pubs. Alongside immediate financial support from the government and funders, there is a pressing need to adapt, become resilient and adopt new approaches. I was the lead facilitator for 2 rounds of the Peer Networks Programme, a peer-to-peer programme for the sustainable food hospitality sector. The programme is run by Impact Hub King’s Cross in partnership with the Greater London Authority and the Department of Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy. It was created as an opportunity for businesses to receive tangible insights, find solutions and be held accountable by a supportive group of peers who are experiencing similar challenges or opportunities. We worked to enable our participants to gain confidence in their business survival and resilience, as well as leadership and management abilities, with the support of a new emergent network. -
