I am passionate about molecular genetics, understanding the structure and function of genes at the molecular level and how gene expression are regulated. The misregulation of gene expression in human accounts for major disease development such as cancer. I am convinced that by fully understanding the results of gene misregulation and disease development, therapeutics interventions from plant phytochemicals and microbial enzymes can be determined thus facilitating an interdisciplinary research.I am excited about current breakthroughs in biotechnology particularly in areas revolving around therapeutics. With my background in plant genetics, molecular biology and biotechnology, the skill-set I gained can be channeled for possible therapeutic development of disease especially cancer; breast cancer.
