Transdisciplinary research for more Patient Value in oncology research, supported by King Baudouin Foundation.

The ULB-Cancer Research Center (U-CRC) aims at strengthening cancer research at ULB by stimulating interactions between its researchers from the Bordet Institute, the Erasme Hospital and the ULB faculties, working on various aspects of cancer research at the basic, translational and clinical levels. As coordinator, I have an active role in the U-CRC development and support the different stages of the U-CRC development, management and networking. My functions are :• To coordinate the development of U-CRC research projects, promoting synergies between the member groups; • To promote collaboration between U-CRC and multiple stakeholders (network building and communication within ULB and broad partners) ;• To support the U-CRC promotion (events organisation e.g. seminars and conferences, management of the website)http://ucrc.ulb.be/In parallel, I also coordinate a project funded by Innoviris, ONCO.BRU, which aims to define the priorities to improve cancer care in Brussels region. This exploratory project is conducted in a participative research philosophy and develops a holistic approach centered on the patient.

My research project focused on improving fertility preservation techniques in young women undergoing gonadotoxic treatment. I studied the GnRH analogues as pharmacological protection of ovaries during chemotherapy. We evaluated their efficiency and their mechanisms of action through ovarian receptors and/or hypothalamic-pituitary axis using original models in mice.
