During my internship, I contributed to the drafting and formatting of the strategic research and innovation agenda for the BISON project. Additionally, I was involved in writing and formatting the deliverable on mapping research and innovation funding. I participated in producing policy briefs as part of the BISON project in collaboration with the Fondation of Research for Biodiversity -FRB. In addition, I have co-organised the final BISON meeting at the Council of Europe and ensured the capitalization and exploitation of debates and discussions. I have also been supporting the IENE network in strengthening its organisation and funding and assisted in strengthening the Transport4Nature action. I ensured the connection between BISON and the Think thank of the G7/G20 on sustainable infrastructure, as well as the connection between BISON and the infrastructure4nature coalition.

As IAAS Vice President of Communication, I am in charge of informing the IAAS members about the latest news, upcoming IAAS events and external opportunities. Increasing the efficiency of information flow is a focal point! I work along with the Executive Board to get IAAS to the next level. I am in charge of managing the Communication Board to come to a fruitful and efficient structure.

I worked under Dr Salman Qureshi's guidance. The human- environment-sustainability issue is the topic of Dr Qureshi’s research, which focuses on a wide range of related topics. He applies a geographic perspective as well as his expertise in GIS and spatial data analysis to compelling interdisciplinary questions of sustainability transitions, urban ecosystem services valuation, environmental modelling, urban dynamics, political ecology, climatic change, and the spatial representation of complex socio-ecological problems in multicultural environments. The internship lasted three months and was housed in the geography department of Humboldt University in Berlin. I was required to apply my critical thinking and foundational research skills to answer the research question. Most importantly, I had to demonstrate my ability to plan, manage time, and adapt to changing circumstances. The first goal was to determine the food carbon footprint of a sandwich at the various stages of the food system and to highlight the impact that food-sensitive urban design and planning can have on the carbon footprint. The second objective was to analyse the impact of the food-sensitive design and planning on the consumer and the local food chain. Participating in this internship overseas, I developed the skills necessary to successfully collaborate with others, including overcoming cultural and linguistic barriers. I improved my emotional intelligence, ability to overcome communication barriers, and ability to understand the various cultural points of view available to me by taking on small daily challenges while living abroad.
