Florence Monauer is a licensed attorney in Florida and Texas. She is a litigator at heart, and as a Senior Associate Attorney at Thompson Coe, Monauer battles for her clients in various fields, including complex commercial litigation and professional liability. She represents and defends business owners and individuals from claims involving contractual disputes and negligence in Texas and in Florida. Prior to litigation defense, Monauer was a plaintiff’s attorney representing clients in personal injury and wrongful death actions involving medical malpractice, products liability, premises liability, and car accidents. Monauer’s history of legal work also involved business litigation and transactional work. Some of her past work includes successfully settling and mediating cases in the $1,000,000.00 range and handling lawsuits involving well-known national retail stores and corporate giants.During her time as an attorney, Monauer has hosted and attended various speaking engagements to discuss business transactions, cultural inclusivity, and ethics. In her spare time, she volunteers to judge moot court competitions for local law students. Monauer was born and raised in Houston, Texas, where she spent many of her childhood and adolescent years helping her family with the real estate business. Later, she moved to Provo, Utah, where she received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Broadcast Journalism from Brigham Young University (BYU). Monauer was the graduating class speaker for the Department of Communications in 2006. Monauer then moved to Jacksonville, Florida where she attended Florida Coastal School of Law. While in law school, Monauer was involved in various honor societies and groups, including the nationally recognized moot court honor board at Florida Coastal and mock trial. Monauer has also received awards for her hard work.Monauer graduated from Florida Coastal with her Juris Doctor degree in 2012, and she has earned honorary certificates for Advanced Research & Writing, Pro-Bono Work, Moot Court, and Mock Trial. Monauer was also a mock trial coach for Florida Coastal School of Law.Monauer is married with three children.
