As the Group Sustainability & Innovation Director at Greenyard, I am responsible for setting up and implementing the sustainability strategy & roadmap, managing groupwide sustainability projects to improve our ESG perfomance and as well all related sustainability reporting. I report to the CEO and as part of our extended leadership team I team up with the MD's of our divisions to embed sustainability in everything we do. As of December 2022 I took upon an extra role as innovation director setting up Greenyard's innovation funnel. I am passionate about the inspiring business opportunities of a circular and more sustainable economy. I bring more than 20 years of experience in different senior management positions, with a focus on sustainability, business development, marketing, and communications. After working 17 years in the sector I have extensive knowledge of the recycling and waste management industry. With now 3 years in fruits & vegetables, I am still learning everyday on the complexity of our global food system, where climate change, bio-diversity, water, (food)waste, packaging and a range of social aspects are key topics to work on and are all interconnected. I value inspiring and enabling people to transform to a more sustainable circular society, and have a natural drive to connect people and business to enable the development of new circular and sustainable business propositions. I am result-driven, creative and pragmatic, excelling at empowering and motivating teams to realize ambitious goals and find simple solutions to complex problems. I am interested in roles where I can have tangible impact and use my experience to create circular / sustainable value. I work for companies or organizations that have a clear vision on sustainability, embedded in their strategy and business model, with a balance between ecology, economy and the human part of sustainability.
