I finished my Bachelors and Masters (Cum laude) in Econometrics & Operations Research in 4 years.Whilst studying I started a company named Gappture with a companion from university, with whom I developed various utility applications. The efforts we made with our company led to the next opportunity; becoming a full-time software engineer at Kleynen Consultants. I have worked for Kleynen Consultants for more than 6 years and have consciously gained the ideal skill set to one day start my own Fintech company: • I have been the key player in building the risk management software of an insurer with over half a billion euro in revenue and therefore know all the ins and outs of finance and risk management. Solvency II, the European legislation applicable to insurers, forms an excellent basis for making adequate financial choices and is fundamentally also relevant to consumers who strive for financial independence.• Despite my technical background, I have continuously been involved in sales and have therefore developed a commercial mindset.• As a software engineer I am able to build the entire back-end and front-end including devops for any web service. More importantly, I am able to explain my ideas and teach my skills to others.• I learned how to build and maintain an efficient and effective team. I started my own company Figy in October 2021.
