We have one decade to curb climate change.To respond to that, I dedicate my life to find urgent, practicable and scalable responses to three overarching questions based on regenerative and whole-systems thinking:1. Large-scale restoration: How can we most rapidly and effectively restore the at least 2 billion hectares of degraded ecosystems and forests that can provide around 30% of the global climate solutions? With Global Forest Generation, we are building on proven on-the-ground success to scale up a series of regional forest landscape restoration (FLR) initiatives to million-hectare scale. Our first initiative 'Andes Action' is on a mission to restore 1 million hectares of high Andean priority forests, working with hundreds of rural and indigenous communities to restore degraded watersheds, mainly for water security reasons.2. Regenerative Businesses: How can we effectively engage the private sector in Forest Landscapes Restoration and Regenerative Development? I support a new generation of 50+ purpose-driven companies with regenerative business models that are on a mission to regenerate natural, social and cultural capital. I do so by matchmaking with aligned investors seeking investments of 1-50 million USD; set up impact measurement systems that use regenerative thinking to evaluate performance; and work with businesses to adopt integrated landscapes approaches for maximum impact.3. Regenerative Landscapes Development: How can we integrate all the above to develop advanced landscape development models that spur regenerative impact at the bioregional scale?
