Government of Albania has requested grant aid to the Government of Japan for emergency medical equipment. The Government of Japan approved the project on February 2, 2010. The final objective of this project is to enable quick diagnosis and treatment at facilities nearest the patients, so as to improve the lifesaving rate in Albania.Medical equipment such as advanced life support ambulances, CT scanners, patient monitors and other emergency lifesaving equipment, imaging diagnostic equipment will be donated to the Pediatric Hospital "Mother Theresa" and Kukes Regional Hospital. JICA will also provide medical equipment to Regional hospitals in Lezha, Diber, Durres, Elbasan, Fier, Berat, Vlore, Gjirokaster and Korce; two District hospitals in Lushnje and Sarande as well as Emergency Dispatch Center in Tirana.

Grant Assistance for Underprivileged Farmers (2KR) is aid provided for purchasing agricultural equipment such as machinery and fertilizer to help, in particular and from the viewpoint of human security, underprivileged and small-scale farmers improve their self-sufficiency ratio of food crops (rice, wheat, maize, etc.) in developing countries suffering from food shortages.
