In this context, the proposed project has contributed to Bombardier's research initiative with the overall objective to improve modelling and simulation throughout the aircraft development process to enable innovation and reduce development risk. The objective was to develop new thermal design capabilities to enable early model-based design validation for future aircraft concepts. The obtained results have been well received by the aerospace community during international (SAE and AIAA) and national (CASI) conferences. In conclusion, this early model-based design validation approach allows conducting thermal analysis earlier than before for the industry partner (Bombardier Aerospace), which provides several benefits such as reducing and more even distribution of the overall engineering workload the reduction of the probability of late design changes.
